Now is the time to start voting for me to be in the Viva Las Vegas Burlesque competition. I wanted to post the rules because it will be VERY EASY TO ELIMINATE ME, and i do NOT want that happenening. So here they are:
1) The judges are meeting on Saturday to choose the 4 judges choice finalists so that will be announced on Sunday and the 4 will be posted on the website and taken out of the voting. Then the voting will continue for the next 4.
2) Voting will close at midnight Central Time (10pm Pacific) on January 31st.
3) The system is now set for one vote per email address and IP address. That means you can only vote once from a computer and you cannot use your email address to vote on two computers.
4) When a vote is placed, an email will be sent to the voter and they must click on the link to confirm the vote before it will show on the site. This email may take a few minutes to arrive depending on the internet service providers.
5) We will be constantly monitoring voting for any irregularities.
6) You are free to promote yourself wherever and whenever you like to generate votes. We have no limitations on that.
Here are a few scenarios from the past that I would like to give our opinions on so that you know for sure:
- Flyers promoting a performer. This is OK
- Online promotion. This is OK.
- Radio & TV. This is OK although one year this generated half a million website hits in 30 mins and caused our old server to crash.
- Taking a laptop to a show to get the audience to vote. Although we had no problem with this, the new system will not allow it as it is only one vote per IP address.
- Using a program to generate email addresses and IP addresses. This will result in immediate elimination from the competition. We have the means to know if this is taking place.
Now - I have sent out an email to Tom regarding the use of multiple laptops with a wireless router, as they can all show up from the same IP address - I am waiting on him to get back to me with this, because i do not want to accidentally get the boot because of it.
I am super excited to get to do this and would not be able to do so without your help, so PLEASE pass this along and forgive me while i promote the hell out of myself, and please forward this to everyone you know!
